Craig Eversfield

owner and operation

Born and raised in the Garden City, Craig was profoundly influenced by his grandparents’ exquisite garden. This early exposure sparked his passion for gardening, which grew during his seven years working at Butchart Gardens. After leaving his position at Butchart Gardens, Craig earned his Horticultural Certificate and founded Eversfield Garden and Landscape. He and his crew are dedicated to creating beautiful gardens and take pride in delivering quality work. Craig values his relationship with his customers, and their satisfaction with his work is of the utmost importance. While he is the owner operator, he would enjoy having his hands in the dirt. He likes to work on site with his crews, engaging with the landscape and the clients.

He is passionate about nature and the natural world around him. He spends his free time hiking, backpacking, kayaking, being active, listening to music, and working on do-it-yourself projects.

Kai Eversfield

Horticultural Technician

Kai is a Horticulturalist who has been working professionally since his graduation from the Pacific Horticulture College in 2022, and has been interested in gardening since he was a child. He plans to complete his Red Seal in Horticulture in 2025. He is working as a Horticultural Technician for Eversfield Garden and Landscape, in addition to his job as a plant nursery attendant. The aim of both jobs is to acquire a more varied experience in the horticulture industry and to gain as much insight into plant cultivation as possible.

Kai’s skills lie in his desire for horticultural knowledge, whether he’s leafing through his RHS Encyclopedia of plants or researching the Latin roots of botanical species names. His goal is to be a source of knowledge for those around him, so that he can introduce new, exciting, never before considered plants to customers. He finds it especially rewarding when he can successfully resolve issues and answer plant-related questions for clients. He hopes to one day take on a role as a community educator, so he can inspire people the way his mentors inspired him.

Michael Patterson

Horticultural Technician

Michael hails from a small town in Manitoba, moving to BC after finishing his secondary education. He completed his Horticultural Technicians certificate through Camosun in 2023. Michael takes pleasure in the maintenance aspect of gardening and takes pride in the properties he cares for. He is captivated by the process of enhancing the visual appeal of plants and the landscape around them. He hopes to one day work in large-scale production growing and is looking forward to continuing his education towards this goal. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his partner and their dog, as well as creating YouTube videos.

Erin Reder

Horticultural Technician & Design Specialist

Born and raised in Victoria, Erin has a deep passion for the outdoors and the natural world. Recently, she has immersed herself in Horticulture, focusing on creating sustainable landscapes that benefit both people and the ecosystem. In her landscape designs, Erin prioritizes understanding the needs of both human and non-human inhabitants to create gardens that are both beautiful and sustainable. Her specific interests include perennials and native plantings, garden design, soil health and management, permaculture design, and food gardens. Additionally, she has expertise in bamboo, capable of addressing inquiries related to the selection of species, installation, and removal. Erin looks forward to working on numerous new and exciting gardens throughout her career

Gabrielle Simpson

Horticultural Technician & Plant Pest and Disease Specialist

Gabrielle has fostered a love of nature and learning her whole life, starting in her grandmother’s veggie garden, where she learned the value of home grown food. In an effort to align her professional career with her passions, Gabrielle became a docent, educating specifically on insects and their roles in our ecosystem. This serves her well in her current role, allowing her to view customers’ properties as a whole, considering not only the plants on site, but also the insects, fungi, and animals they interact with.

Gabrielle believes that it is our responsibility to not only care for the spaces we live in, but to also engage with and be a part of them. To this end, she completed her Horticulture Technician Certificate, allowing her to pursue employment in the great outdoors. She worked in several areas of Horticulture, before finding her niche, caring for residential properties and enabling people to better engage with the nature around them. Gabrielle finds it particularly rewarding to provide care for sites that have been neglected, and to be a pair of hard-working hands for people who would not otherwise have the ability to maintain their spaces to their liking.
